In addition to its 175th company anniversary, Lock also celebrated "60 years of power drives" in 2019. Exactly on May 15, 1959, the first "Type 16" power drive was delivered to a greenhouse construction company. The world has become more short-lived. Products have changed. Warranty periods today often indicate the maximum service life of a product. Was everything better in the past? No, as a premium manufacturer, Lock still places the highest value on quality. But how do you convey this important information? This is how the marketing campaign "175 years of Lock | We are looking for the oldest power drive" came about.
In the anniversary year, the oldest power drive still in operation was then consistently sought. This one had actually been in operation for 57 years. All participants were asked to film the power drive. From the films sent in, the video "Oldest EWA wanted" was created, which was presented for the first time at IPM 2020. Also in 2020, the marketing campaign was submitted for the first time for the TASPO Awards. At the end of October, the big anniversary gala and awards ceremony for the 15th TASPO Awards was to take place. But here, the Corona crisis threw a spanner in the works. We are all the more pleased that our marketing activity is one of the finalists for the TASPO Awards 2021 and are very excited about the award ceremony on 05 November in Berlin.
