Practical example of the TKHQ

The drive system for the TKHQ was a great challenge for the technical specialists involved. Two louvres lying on precisely the same axial point needed to be adjusted independently of one another in response to exposure to direct sunlight. The Lock designers devised a very special solution for this that went on to be submitted for patent approval.

Function:

  • Integrated worm gear unit
  • Reduction ratio gearbox with interface to the motor

Safety:

  • Mechanical collision monitoring system (pat. pending)
  • Monitors louvre positions to ensure that no collisions take place
